I have been blessed in this life to not only have parents that support me, but kids that do as well. I grew up in a loving but "Old School" French household. My parents worked for the airlines (TWA) so I was able to see a lot of Europe as a kid. I moved to Seattle Washington at the age of 22 and stayed there for twelve years before moving to Alaska for a little over two. Fairbanks, AK was one hell of an experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back! I spent a little over a year in South Carolina before moving back to Arizona. I then left for Kansas for five years and now reside in the South for another two years. I've been married to the military in one way or another for over half my life and wouldn't change a thing about it. Writing has become my fulltime job and I've never been so happy doing a job I love and being able to do it in my jammies. I plan on writing until I dry up and die. Hopefully, that won't happen soon!

If you know anything about this series, you know it is a m/m paranormal romance series. In this first book in the series, there is no paranormal, but hang with it. It comes in spades very quickly. I loved this first book. This is Mateo and Riley's story, but we also get to meet a few of the characters that play big roles later on. I loved this book right from the beginning! The way the author writes is like having a conversation with you. Her style is one I judge other books with. This book grabs you so fast, before you know it, you have read the whole thing in one sitting!

Mateo Esposito is an alpha male, badass, assassin. He joined the military at 18, after growing up in the foster care system after the death of his parents. He never let on that he was gay until he got out from being a sniper in the Army and joined an elite group of assassins who work for General Derek Jacobs and James Pruitt. In this group, he along with Sam, Troy, and Josh,  known as the Skull Blasters, work to rid the world of the worst of the worst. Drug dealers, pedophiles, corrupt dictators, and those for whom justice cannot be served, are their targets. Mateo is a love them and leave them kinda guy. He gets off and gets gone. He doesn't even have a house, he stays with his friend Naomi when he is in town.

Riley Flynn of Flynn electronics, is a 24 year old whiz kid who's company makes guidance chips for the military. He is a guy who is very much in the closet where it comes to his sexuality. He has dated women to keep his dad, a homophobe, off his case. His life was great until he and his mother were is a car accident, where she died. Its been 14years, but the pain is still there. His father shipped him off to boarding school, and the only reason he sees his dad is because his mother left the company to Riley, and his father works there. His dad thinks they should sell the chips to outsiders, but Riley will only sell to Americans.

When Mateo gets the go ahead on his new target, a one Riley Flynn, things get interesting. Mateo can find nothing corrupt on the young man, so he sits and watches. It becomes clear to him that something is amiss, but Mateo's job is absolute. Just as he questions the situation, he is shot at, and all hell breaks loose. He grabs Riley and high tails is to the Skull Blaster's safe house in Benson, Arizona. Speaking with his boss, they realize what is going on and Mateo has to protect Riley from the bad guys. Mateo hates babysitting, but he does his job. Little does he know that he has met Riley before, and he starts falling for him hard. When the worst thing possible happens, Mateo will move mountains to protect the man he loves. But will it be enough? Can he save Riley? Is love enough? Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? When the dust settles, will Mateo be able to change? Can Riley do what he needs to? This book is the start to an amazing adventure that spans more than two dozen books, and they just get better and better! Buckle up for this incredible, unique journey! You won't regret it!
