Review-Gehenna by Helen Taft

Gehenna Book Title – Gehenna
Author – Helen Taft
Publisher -
ISBN/ASIN –
Genre – Supernatural

Forget Hell, this is Gehenna. You die, you’re damned and then you wake up here, but that’s not the end of the story. If you don’t redeem, or die the second and final death, you slowly turn into a demon—and then you really do belong in hell.
Michael Thane is running out of time, the change from man to demon is eroding what little humanity he has left. His state of mind isn’t helped when he’s framed for a series of brutal torture-murders so vicious they’re threatening to shatter a two thousand year-old truce.
Forced to go on the run, he snatches the one human who knows he’s innocent, Special Constable Elizabeth Grant. Murder and an all-or-nothing hunt through the worst parts of hell are not their only problems. They have to figure out who is trying to return Gehenna to a true hell of torment before it’s too late.

Review Divider

Gehenna starts off with a bang and lots of action. Michael Thane is a vampire bounty hunter in purgatory. Gehenna is a place for people, when they die, to change their ways. God gives the sinners a second chance, so to speak. Michael is no different. He led a pretty terrible life and has to change his ways, otherwise he'll turn into a feral vampire and kill without remorse.

Liz is pretty new to Gehenna and makes a name for herself as Gehenna's version of a cop. She's also an empath and that leads her into more trouble.

There's a vampire torturing and killing humans and everyone thinks it's Michael, including Liz. And then Michael kidnaps her and makes it worse.

This book has tons of action, intrigue, deception, and even a smattering of romance. It has a great plot. I can't wait for the sequel.
