 This is a wonderful, heartfelt tale of acceptance, heart break, courage, and the whims of fate. I loved the story, and the characters are so well developed that you can see them in your mind, and you feel their struggles. I found myself at odds when I reached the end, hoping that there was more to learn about them.

In the beginning, Rebecca comes home from a month away working with the Library of Congress to find out that her sublet apartment has been willed to an ex marine named Manny. If that wasn't bad enough, the funding for her job with the library was cut and she would have to move to fundraising. Manny felt bad so he let her stay with him until she can find a new place. Manny was recovering from a broken heart. He had lost the love of his life, Kyle, when they were caught fooling around while serving overseas. He was not prepared to open his heart to anyone, seeing as he had decided to take a 90 day break from romance to figure out how to heal. When he finds himself attracted to Rebecca, he is unsure if he is ready. Kyle really hurt his best friend when he ended everything between them, abandoning his love to save face with his mother. He realized how much he had screwed up, and he hoped Manny would be able to forgive him. What he was not prepared for was how he felt about Rebecca. Yeah, he and Manny had shared women before, but he never cared about them, it had always been about Manny. Kyle's mother, Olivia is running for re-election as a Senator, and the pressures on Kyle make him make some big mistakes with his two loves. Add in a slimy neighbor, Wilson, and the story gets even more interesting! This book is an interesting exploration about trust, honor, obligation, and tolerance toward things that one does not understand. It is beautifully written. I was hooked from page one, and I know I will be re reading this one very soon. Ms. Turner is a very good story teller, and I cannot wait to read more from this amazing author.
