Blog Tour-Just About Healing by Victoria Escobar

Just About Healing
By- Victoria Escobar
Genre- NA Contemporary

My sister was my lifeline, my beacon, my North Star. I could rely on her, depend on her, turn to her when the world was just too hard to face. She could depend on me for the same.

I laughed with her; cried with her; rejoiced her success; and part of me died with her too. I lived for her, loved no one greater than her. Without Savannah, I had no one to turn to, no one to share my soul with. My other half, closer than twins we were, was just gone.

Grief broke my soul and crushed my heart to dust. I didn’t know how to put the pieces back together. I wasn’t sure I even want to without her. How could I live knowing she would never share anything with me again?

Time, supposedly, heals all wounds. I don't believe that. But I do know there are other ways to heal. I just had to find them.

Book Title –Forgiving Gia
Author – Gina Whitney
Publisher –  Gina Whitney
ISBN/ASIN -
Genre –

Abel Gunner is a rock-star with legendary skills both in and out of the bedroom. He swore he wouldn't fall for another woman after being schemed and manipulated by an ex-lover. He kept that vow until he met Gia Mastro. The Dom inside of him awoke the moment he set eyes upon the submissive beauty. His dark soul hungered for her submission and affection. The deep connection they share leaves him desperate for something he never expected – her love. Her pain brings him the pleasure he craves. Her smile calms the beast that rages within him. Gia loves Abel more than life itself, but Abel is disillusioned by love and wrecks Gia in the process. Her life hangs in the balance. His life depends on forgiving her. This couple must face many truths. Is love enough to overcome the damage that dwells within? Gia’s experiences with love have been nil until meeting the infamous bad-boy rocker, Abel Gunner. Swept up in a mind-bending, Dom/submissive love affair, she’s forced to make decisions that both help and hurt their relationship. They both have to face their demons before they can embrace a future together. In the end, they’re faced with two choices: Fight for their love, or die with their demons.

Gina Whitney

I grew up reading Judy Blume, and Nancy Drew books. I was raised in the town of North Valley Stream, New York(Long Island), and attended community college for fashion design. At 19 years old I opened a boutique. Recently, I published my second and third novel Beautiful Lies and Saving Abel. Forgiving Gia, which is the follow to Saving Abel, will be out early fall. When I'm not writing, you can find me with friends and family. I live in Massapequa, NY with my two beautiful boys PJ and Drew, and our Mastiff Hercules. Reading has always been a passion and obsession. You can usually find me typing furiously while shouting obscenities over my latest WIP. My guilty pleasures are: a good laugh, being snarky, espresso, Pistachio ice-cream, alternative music, sunflower seeds, I.P.A's, twizzlers, and above all steamy swooning angst filled novels. I'm pathologically obsessed with True Blood(Eric ;), Games of Thrones, White Queen, Vampire Diaries, Resurrection, and The Originals. If you'd like to chat. Hit me up on Facebook or twitter

Disclaimer: It doesn't bother me nor would it have stopped me from reading, but there are some f bombs. It is part of the characters' personalities, but if you are easily offended just beware.
Gina Whitney has done it again! In her follow-up to Saving Abel it picks up right where it left off. They are both in their own special kinds Hell separately and she takes you on a ride. You get pulled into and up onto the wild ride that is Abel & Gia's Dom/Sub relationship. They each have their own issues they need to work through like trust, addiction, mental, a "Medusa", a "psycho cancer" ex, and a possible mole within the Lethal Abel crew. They struggle to wade through the crap that is life and come out on the other side stronger for it.
There are some hot hot hot scenes that leave you trying to hang on to just the edge of your seat for the ride and wow what a ride they are if you manage! All in all a good follow up to Saving Abel. Looking forward to the next one.

Review-Hate: A Love Story by Laurel Ulen Curtis

22038475

Book Title – Hate: A Love Story
Author – Laurel Ulen Curtis
Publisher – Laurel Ulen Crutis
ISBN/ASIN -

Genre- Romance

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Life can be messy,
And love can be too.
Most people say that it’s not important where you’re going, but instead, how you get there.
Unfortunately for me, the journey to love was absolutely agonizing. Love and Hate wrestled with my life day after day, year after year, and the only way to stop it was to let one of them win.

Laurel Ulen Curtis

Laurel Ulen Curtis is a 27 year old mother of one. She lives with her husband and son (and cat and two fish!) in New Jersey, but grew up all over the United States. She graduated from Rutgers University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, and puts that to almost no use other than forecasting for her friends! She has a passion for her family, laughing, and reading and writing Romance novels.

First let me get the pleasantries out of the way. I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Now that those are out of the way let me get on with it.
Emotional Roller Coaster Stars
Holy wow! The journey and roller coaster ride that Laurel takes you on is one of tears and tons of laughter. Just when you think the story is going to take a turn for the super sentimental Gram pipes up and says something that just makes you smile and then laugh and I mean belly laugh.
Whitney/NeeNee/Elbow is one of the main characters. We meet her in 7th grade and she is a bit awkward, not super social it seems, and things don't really change a bunch. As the story progresses so does time, a year here and a year there. She goes through some pretty rough stuff her senior year and then fast forward to adult years and you see her again.
Blane is the other main character in this story. He meets Whitney when he comes to the new school. He bullies his way in to her life and stays there. Lots of tragic events happen and eventually time can heal, but it takes time. He joins the Army, grows up, and gets a life.
Then we meet Gram. She is outspoken, loud, and doesn't care what others think. She draws you in, makes you laugh, makes you think, and then some.
This is a pretty great tale of woe, happiness, and tragic life events. Definitely worth a read.

Review-First Taste by Mira Bailee

Book Title – First Taste

They're the world's sexiest bachelors. The men of ScandalLust mag's infamous Lust List are young, wealthy, and, oh, did we mention? HOT.

When scandal follows them everywhere, there’s no hiding from the cameras.

They're irresistible, insatiable—and talented in all the right ways. Every woman wants them. But these playboys won't be easy to catch...

Olivia Margot didn’t struggle through college just to serve Hollywood’s elite. But student loans won’t pay themselves, and a gorgeous Stone brother just insisted she cater an event at his family’s mansion.

Devon Stone—sexy, black sheep of Stone Record Label fame—has always been a mischievous tabloid favorite. Now that he’s on The Lust List, it’s that much harder to keep out of trouble.

And that’s exactly what he is: Trouble. Olivia’s always been a good girl. And this bad boy is more risk than she can handle.

A beer-brewing librarian, has been writing leisurely, scholarly, and professionally for the past twenty years. First Taste is her kickoff as an independently-published author.
While she’s always maintained a high standard of chaos in her daily routine, The Lust List allows her to pass on some of her hectic lifestyle to her characters. Her storytelling balances humor and pleasure with sincerity and conflict, providing a wild ride of human emotions.
In the past she studied filmmaking and screenwriting and determines what goes on behind the scenes is just as tantalizing as what’s seen in front of the camera. This revelation is the basis for her inspiration for The Lust List.

I enjoyed the book. There were some funny moments and some moments when the heroine needed the crap shook plain out of her ;) The books brings forth lots of frustration, anxiety, and a couple almost there steamy scenes. I almost felt like it was a little rushed though. The book takes place in a 1 week time frame so hopefully the next book in the series elaborates a little more on the relationship. I look forward to reading more about them.

It is a good quick read if you are looking for something in a pinch.

Claudy Conn
I am so happy you stopped by.
Some of you may know me as Claudette Williams/Melanie Davis, two names I used when I was writing regency and historical romances. In more recent years, I fell in love with the fantasy/paranormal world of romance as well.
I created my Legend series. The first, Spellbound-Legend was received with great success and I went on to continue the series. However, I wrote Prince Prelude-Legend, as a backstory for the Legend series.
My readers fell in love with Prince Breslyn, as I did, and I went on to write his backstory in Prince in the Mist, FREE. I did the same for my Queen,Aaibhe in Aaibhe, Shee Queen, also free.
I wrote over 40 mass market bestsellers for Random House, Doubleday, and Zebra in the past, but now, I have become an Indie Author.
As an Indie author, I still want to give my readers the best that I can, so I have a wonderful professional editor, a copy editor and an amazing cover artist.
In the meantime, some of my historical romance fans have asked for more in that genre and I have been hard at work rewriting and updating my regency romances and making them more realistic and spicy. I also created my bestselling paranormal regency, Netherby Halls.

Hungry-Moon Quicksilver by Claudy Con is a action packed plot with werewolves, magic and
hot men.  It is full of heartache and emotions that will keep you pulled in until the
very end!

Review- Shrapnel's Kiss by Amy Rachiele

Book Title – Shrapnel's Kiss
 Author – Amy Rachiele
Publisher –  Amy Rachiele
ISBN/ASIN -
Genre – Military Romance

In a war torn Afghanistan, Junie signs up for a Peace Corps assignment involving recently orphaned children. She wasn't expecting a lavish experience. She knew it would be primitive and dangerous, but it turned out to be way more difficult than she could have imagined.

Captain Tyler Alexander, U.S. Army, Infantry: Mission first and mission ready is his motto but he realizes it all has a deeper meaning when he meets Junie--a Flower-power Peace Corps volunteer.

From the author: My husband did two tours in Afghanistan. I wanted to write something semi-authentic so he gave me descriptions of the sites and sounds of the country in wartime

Amy Rachiele is a military spouse and brat who spent many years volunteering and on staff for the Army National Guard and Department of Veteran Affairs with family support, family readiness, as well as, families of the Fallen. Amy devoted 10 years to teaching at-risk students in the Providence School System. She holds a Master's degree from Rhode Island College in English and Secondary Education. She volunteers her time at the local library facilitating a writer’s group in the hope of inspiring other writers. Besides writing, she enjoys scrapbooking, sewing, and traveling. Amy lives in Massachusetts with her son and husband.

I received this from the author as a beta read for honest feedback and a review.

Shrapnel's Kiss was quite a ride. The author draws you in with lots of detail. You get drawn in by her descriptions and her attention to details of smells, sights, sounds, all of it. It was a really good quick read.

Junie is a 20 year old new Peace Corp worker that just signed up to help at a orphanage in Afghanistan. She is trying to escape a life she felt lost in. She went to try and find herself and through several extremely stressful events she is able to find herself again.

Tyler is a captain in the Army that is tasked out along with his crew to escort 3 civilians to a orphanage. He isn't too thrilled about it because he sees them as hippies and isn't interested. Everything changes in one faithful night and his life changes.

If you are looking for super steamy this isn't for you because of where the story takes place it is more about the connection between the characters and the ordeal they go through together rather than the steam. It is still a well written story, and worth a read.
